I wasn't aware of how long the warranty was and what it covered but I would pay whatever I had to because the watch was a gift. I took it to the Fossil store and they said they'd send it out to Metro Service and it would be $30-$40. I look online and indeed the warranty is eleven years and isn't supposed to cover bands, links, and batteries. After a few weeks I got the watch back and the entire band was replaced for free, all I had to pay was $8.50 for shipping. Most vendors are easy to deal with and accommodating with the customers. Fossil watches are definitely my favorite because they are relatively inexpensive and the customer service I never had a problem with. Good luck with the repairs. I have the same issue as a lot of the people on this blog in the fact that I can't buy a band because no one has one specific to this type of watch. Same problem I had with a Guess watch 5 years ago. Bottom line is I will never buy a Fossil, DKNY, Guess or Nixon watch ever again unless they have replacement bands at the same store. Timex here I come. Would you throw away a gift that means alot to you? I didnt think so. I wouldnt recommend purchasing anything from this company! They seem very unprofessional and there product isnt worth the money.
